.Aug.-4—steamer NTKAU, 247.. Hay, from Wellington. SAILED. Aug. 3—steamer KAITOA, 303, Wildman. °f or Wellington. The Pateena reached Wellington at 850 a.m. to-day, and leaves on the return this afternoon. She will arrive here early to-morrow morning, and sail at 10 a.m. for Picton and Wellington. The Mapourika kit West-port at IO.oU th*& morning, will arrive here to-mgnt. and sail for Wellington direct, at a a.m. to-morrow morning. The Nikau sails for Wellington direct at 7 o'clock this evening. _ The Kaitoa, which left here at / o'clock last evening, arrived at Wellington at 9 o'clock this morning. She reports an exceptionally! severe gale ?n the Straits. -«,- -n- * „ The Kaitoa arrives from Wellington to-morrow morning, and sails on return trip for Wellington direct at 11 p.m. The Kaitoa makes a trip to and from Motiieka to-morrow, leaving here at 9 3 m., and: return-Ins same tide. The Begukis sails at 7 o'clock this evening 1 for Wellington and West Coast ports".' , The Alexander Is still detained at Picton, awaiting improvement in the weather before crossing the Straits.
