(Rec. Aug. 3. 11.10 a.m.) LONDON, Aug. 2. An Italian communique confirms the seriousness of the Austrian defeat at Astico on 31st July, and states that as a reprisal the Austrians are bombing open towns.
Four tons of explosives were dropped on the torpedo and submarine westward of Fiumes.

ROME, Aug. 1. A communique states that we repulsed attacks at Monte Cimone and on the Sette Comuni.
We occupied Panenveggio. An Austrian attack at Forcellaniois was repulsed.
