MEETING Ulf GENERAL committee, A meeting' of the General ■Committee of the Nelson 'branch of (the New Zealand Red 'Cross was held at .Hallonsteins' rooms yesterdayi afternoon, Mrs W. Lock presiding. It was resolved 1 to forward to the 31st General Hospital, Port Said, a box of clothing suitable for the' climate, and to inolude papers and magazines. The hon. secretary i(Mis» J. Tomlinson) reported that £450 had' been cabled to headquarters ait London, and the monthly contribution o? £25 paid to the Minister of Internal Affairs towards the relief of sick and wounded soldiers in 'Ensland. >' The hon. treasurer (Mir J. P. Hayes) reported that there wa-% a credit balance ait the bank of £162 10s 9d. The secretary further reported' as fol-lows:—Ba-ndlages to the value of £Bl 7s 9d, the result of a month's work, are ready to 'be despatched to Mesopotamia, via India, consisting of 1723 roller bandages, 480 traa<ri'giula;r bandages, and 1356 many-tail bandages. . This now leaves' 1000 many-tail audi .976 Toller bandages to be made to. complete, the order -for 7000 roller, 30GO triangular, and 4000 many-tail bandages, which-are the. Nelson quota for the order for the Canterbury JRted Cross district.
