The Christian population is starving, and there are wholesale executions and atrocities whicn commenced on Enver Pasha's visit, wh in Djemal Pasha's attitude to the Christians became more hostile. -Many villages lost a third and even' half the inhabitants. Starvation is due to the food blockade. In Lebanon scores of Christian leaders were executed or exiled. Four bishops called up to the c'Jours have not since been heard of.
