THE SUBMARINE WAR
RAID AGAINST NORTH SEA TRAWLERS. (Australian arifl N.Z: Cable Association.) LONDON, July 23. Submarines raided a fishing fleet in the North Sea. It is reported that they sank eight boats. Five boats' crews have landed at Shields. The crews were treated courteously. SINKING OF A GERMAN STEAMER (R-ee. Juiv 31. 8.50 a.m.) COPENHAGEN. July 30. A submarine., apparently English,, torpedoed the Nord'eng. A German torpedoer attacked the .submarine, which lodged sheila in it and escaped.
