VISCOUNT GREY OF FALLODON
THE FOREIGN SECRETARY'S TITLE. Australian and N.Z. Cable Association.) LONDON, July 23. For personal and family reasons Sir Edward Grey has been permitted to accept a viscounty instead of an earldom with the title of Viscount Grey of Falodon.
- ■ Mail advices received yesterday re porting on the shipbuilding industry in America, state that 81 vessels, aggregat''n<T 35.494 tons gross were built in the States during the month of March. Four if these vessels .aggregating 19,661 tons, were steel steamers. The largest were : —La Brea. 6945 tons, built in San Francisco for the Union Oil Co., of California ; the New York, 6678 tons, built at Quincy for the Texas Company; an 1 the Arborean, 5826 tons, built at Sparrow's Point for the Maryland Steel Co. In the nine months ended 31->t March 679 vessels, aggregating 202,256 tons gross, were built in America, comparing with 714 vessels, of. 153,326 tons, in the corresponding period of the previous year.
