MEMORANDUM FROM MR KEDMOND. SERIOUS SITUATION ALLEGED. (Australian and- N.Z. Cable Association.) LONDON, July 20. Mr Redmond on Tuesday sent the following memorandum to Mr Asquith and Mr 'Lloyd George:— "I feel bound to tell you that the long delay in making public the text of the Irish i'Bll and the uncertainty and irritation caused by Lord Lansdowne s speech have created a most- serious situation in Ireland. In my opinion further delav makes a settlement on the lines laid" down by Mr Lloyd George quite impossible. . . , .'"When the terms were originally submitted we strongly urged him to use all possible despatch, and in consulting our supporters in Ireland we told them that rrreat Imperial interests were at stake. Three weeks have elapsed, and no progress has been made. For some mysterious reason the matter which was so urgent five weeks ago now hangs fire. "I therefore urge upon the Government that further delay will be tatal, and record my conviction that any proposal to depart from the terms agreed upon, especially with respect to the strictlvi temporary and' provisional character of all the sections of the Bill, wn. compel us to declare that tne agreement on the faith of which we obtained the assent of our supporters in Ireland, has bee,, departed from and is at an end. NATIONALIST DISSATISFACTION. (Australian and N.Z. Cable Association.) LONDON, July 21. A large meeting of Nationalists at iDerry, representing Derry, Tyrone, and Fermagh, adopted resolutions opposing the exclusion of the Ulster counties, and declaring that if a separate government was established they would resist its authority. The Catholic Bishop of Derry wrote, approving of the resolution.
