Tt is intended to hold a grand procession and carnival at Motueka on Wednesday next, for which elaborate pre parations are being made. It is proposed to make a start at 10.30 a.m., th<? Pro cession lea ving the Horticultural Hall and making its wav to the Rereation Ground, where short speeches will be given. in the afternoon sports and games will be held in the Recreation Ground, and the carnival will bo brought to a conclusion in the evening in the Horticultural Hall, when the winner of the Princess comnetition will be announced. .Many contributions of produce, etc., have been made, and these will be disposed of durincr the afternoon and evening at the Horticultural Hall. One resident gave a pedigree Holstein bull, which wiU be disposed- of at auction. The procession will include the Motueka 'Brass Band, Territorials, 'Cadets, returned solaiers, and Bov Scouts as guard of honour to the Princess candidates in decorated cars. Oflicers of the Sharpshooters, the Mayor and chairmen of local bodies Eire Brigade with appliances, Friendly Societies with banners, school children with flags and decorated lorries with tableaux will be interspersed.
