BRITISH MAKE SLIGHT PROGRESS RAIDING ACTIVITY. (Australian and N-Z. Cable Association.) LONDON'. July 5. Sir Douglas Haig reports that Sghti ang continued all day 'in the southern- " sectors. "We slightly .progressed at some •points. The remainder of a. whole German battalion surrendered in the vicinity of the Pricouxt lighting. There was a bombing encounter at La Boisell-e. Our trops are in, complete possession of the village. We easily repulsed, with enemy losses bombing attacks on jpositions held by us south of Thiepval. Betwen Thiepval and Ancre our newly won trenches were heavily shelled. There is considerable artillery activity at Loos and Hohenzoliern Redoubt. A German xaad south of Armenfcieres broke down under our rifle fire. Our bombing aeroplanes sucessfully attacked the railway at Comities, Comblea and St. Quentin. Our offensive patrols worked far into ' the enemy country and encountered hostile aeroplanes in great numbers, much ■fighting resulting. Seven German planes r ww«, brought down.
