ANNUAL CONFERENCE OF .DELEGATES. The 15th annual conference of the Nelson Provincial Farmers' Union wtts held in the Oddfellows' Hall. .Richmond-, on Tuesday, May 30th. Th« following were present: "Messrs Walter Thorn (President). F. Wit it well (vice-president), G. Hlugonin, J. Jordan, li- O'Connor,' K. Goodall, Ivo Tunniclift'e, C. E. MacShane, Geo. Dodson, G. L. -Mead. R H'. Turner, W. Barker, and W. D. Hark-' ness. 'A'lessrs R. C. Withers and C Winter were excused trom attendance. The President then gave a resume of the work done during the past year. It was resolved t-hau a telegram; of sympathy be sent to Mr R. P. Hudson-,' M.P., On the death of his son. The balance-sheet, which was read- and adopted, .showed a small credit balauc-3. Minister. E-esolved (-Messrs Whit-well-—Dodsoti) That the question of dealing with the small birds nuisance is one that can better be v dealt with, by the branches, each for its own locality,, and in the opinion of-this Conference, would not arise.; to .frequently if. there were not so .much .individual apathy among the farmers concerned.. , . - . . Resolved (Messrs Goodall—Dodson) Tihat- the Agricultural Jiepartment. be asked to sendan expert to -report on' the lime deposits of the district, with a -view to erecting lime, 'crashing- plants. Resolved; ('Messrs Tunniclift'e—-O'Con-nor) That the-Government be urged to enforce the .Jvoxious Weeds Act in:-agri--cultural districts. Re dividing the "T" '-cattle trucks onthe railwaj's. it was resolved (Messrs Tunniclift'e—Dodson)' That not having any trueki of this class in the- district, •we liave no recommendation to make. Resolved (Messrs Dodson—Tunnicliffe) That ! the delegate again approach the Government re the establishment, of an experimental farm at the Boys' Training Farm', Stoke. Resolved (Messrs Mead—Tunnicliffe) That the delegate interview the Minister of 'Public Works re repairing the bridge* on the YVa'ngapeka-Karamea track. ■ OFFICERS..
