(incorporating Braid and- Wallace) report as follows on the Wellington fruit and produce market: — Prices for dessert Varieties of apples and pears are maintaining good values. Very keen competition exists for choice red coloured dessert apples. Firm dessert pears are in much better •demand:Pears: Josephine 9s 6d, Nelis Bs, Cole 9s, Vicar of Winkfield 3s 6d- to 4s, according, to sample. , Apples: Choice well coloured and graded Delicious 9s to 10s, Jonathan 7s 6d- to 8s 6d, Sturmer choice coloured 6s to 7s, Rhymer ss, London Pippin 4s 4d, Epps's Seedling 4s, other good hard cookers 5s to 5s 6d. The market is strong for good varieties. Messrs Burbidge and Son report as follows on the Wellington fruit and produce market:—There has been an improvement in prices for both dessert and cooking apples in the last few -days." AVinter Nelis and Cole Pears, when not over-ripe, sell well. Tomatoes, cabbages, cauliflowers,, swedes, fresh eggs, mushrooms, .'poultry, and fresh pork are in- good demand.'
