President Poincare sent/ an Empire Day message to King George, conveying" cood wishes to the peoples of the United' Kingdom, the Dominions, and India, whose sons have come to fight beside the soldiers eft France. Tihe King,' in reply, proclaimed the Empire's solidarity with the noble French nation.
KING GEORGE'S MESSAGE TO I THE ARMY. LONDON, May 25. Sir Dousdas Haig telegraphed) to the King an Empire Day message, expressing loyal devotion from the troops of all the Dominions. The King replied: "Tell the soldiers of the Empire of the pride and interest with -which I follow their fortunes, trusting that success will crown their efforts. May the comradeship of the battlefield unite still closer the people of the Dominions a.nd the Mother Countrv" in the acre of peace which, please .Gbd, will be the fruit of this long and arduous war.
