THEATRE ROYAL.

PEOPLE'S PICTURES. The Theatre Royal was well attended last night to witness the final screening of "Iron Justice." To-night the management advertise a complete change, the leading picture being "A Prodigal Baughter," which js a Banish film'"of more than -usual brilliance. The supporting films are both varied- and interesting, the whole forming a splendid evening's entertainment. To-morrow {Saturday) there will be another complete change, the principal feature being "The Trumpet Call," which is an adaption of G. R. Sims' drama of that name. The-film is a lengthy one, and is of a most interesting character. The plot opens with RedTuth, a young man, discovering his wife dancing <with another man at a night club. Filled with anger, the husband tears her from »he club and takes her home. She defiantly laughs in his face, and 'he locks her In the room. Next morning she has escaped, leaving a note stating that she has done with a quiet life. She then sets out on a- life of adventure, and by her attractive appearance soon ensnares another young man—Cuthbert—whom «he persuades to marry her. disillusionment soon comes to Cuthbert, and on learning that he has losfc all his money, the adventuress—as she now is—callonslv deserts him- too. Cuthbert then falls in love with a charming girl—Constance,— and reading -in a newspaper that his wife has died, he persuades Comtance to .elope wit/h hdm, her f-jther being strongly _ opposed to the match, as he wishes his daughter to marryi her cousin Richard. Redruth joins the army, but swears to be revenged on- his" wife, should he ever meet her again. The whirligig- of time brings the adventuress anil Cuthbert face to face again. Cuthbert confesses to Constance that he 5s not legally married to her, tells her to go back, with their little child, to her father, and he, too, then joins the army.'Cousin Richard now presses his claim on the'heart-broken Constance, who at last consents to marry him. Redruth, 'how- t ever,"who has steadily fallen under the influence cf drink, one day. breaks froro the barracks, and being hotly pursued •by the .guard, dashes into an open door. Here he comes irpon his long-lost wife. and drawing a knife tries to carry oui his threat. "The life of the adventures.' is most opportunely saved by Cuthbert sn-d the woman." at the last moment —ir fact, "wheu Richard and Constance arc standing r.t the" altar rails —confesses that she was-already married when sh>'persuaded Cuthbert "to" marry her.
