REABSORPTION OF RETURNED SOLDIERS.-
ADELAIDE, May 25. At the Premiers' Conference,". Senator Pearce stated that the- Federal Government did / not inffend to disband soldiers immediately after thei end of the ■war. They -would have to ~t-e vnlaaded gradually, as otherwise they' would be a menace to the community, and some might- be left to 1 - starve. ' ■ The conference expressed approval, and appointed' a committee to arrange co-ordinate action. ' NEW ZEALAND CASUALTIES {Rec. 9.15" a.m.) SYDNEY, This Day. The following New ' Zealanders have been killed in action:—' *■ Private J. McCullough', R. J". Ca'ppcll. Lost at sea: Private J. Lockhart. Ill: Major A. -W. D. Stuart Moray, Sergb. E. 'Coady, <Corpl. P. Bowcatt, Private F. J. Prifcchard.' Returned to duty: Lieut. D. B. Corfe, Private A. L. Gibson.
