TEACHERS AND ENLISTMENT
ATTITUO3E QF A GOVERNORS.
(UNITED PrBSS ASSOCIATION.)
AUCKLAND, May 25. The question of whether masters of secondary schools should be exempted from, the operations of the 'Compulsory Service Bill or not was discussed at a meeting of the Board of Governors of the Auckland Grammar School. Members expressed the opinion that Uiey would' rather see the school closed than that it should be used as a means 3t preventing- men from enlisting. It was the duty of all eligible men, -whether masters in primary' or secondary schools, to enlist, and 'the board did not intend to restrain the'spirit of masters who wished to join the Expeditionary Forces.
