A "Scottish daily paper, a copy of which has recently been received m Nelson, contains'-the following paragraph.: "Some few ! wesks ac;o we announced in •our < columns that Pioneer Robert Be\eridge of the New Zealand 1 Contingent, who"put insight months' service m -GaU lipoli, had been promoted to the rank ot sergeant in recognition of his -devotion to duty and 'for bringing a convoy ot rations through a shell-swept area, during ■'&' fierce "bombardment, his convoy being the, onlvoneto gettliTOUgh to the firing line. Sergeant Beveridge's good ■fortune still attends him and word lias been received ■ that he has been promoted to .Regimental Quartermaster-Sergeant.
