DISTRIBUTION OF GIFTS

Miss Wilton, hon. secretary of the Lady Liverpool Fund, has received the following letter from the Hon. Colonel Rhodes.'dated Base Depot, Agricultural Hal], Gezireh. Cairo: —-"Your letters of the. 6th and 7th October last, with enclosures, are to hand. Amoiij,' the 1300 cases in our Ordnance Store at Alexandria. I have no doubt that the 75 cases forwarded from Nelson are .included. An extra staff has been put on to open the cases and to re-pack and distribute the contents. If the contents of vonr cases are for men at the front, as I assume they are from the list you have sent me, they will be forwarded to Gallipoli without being opened. "I am sending- one o"f your lists to the officer in charge of our Ordinance Store at Alexandria, and one each to the O.C. 'C Company. 12th (Canterbury) Regiment, and to the O.C. 'C Squadron, 10th (Canterbury) Mounted Rifles Regiment. As the latter is camped close to Headquarters, I shall ask him to show the list to General Johnston, who is in command of the N.Z.F.A.. Brigade, for which unit, there are several cases.
