Gibbs' motion, it was resolved to invite all returned soldiers in the district, each soldier to have the privilege of bringing two friends or relatives. National Reserve, with the. 12th Regiment and National Reserve Bands, will paiticipate. followed bv speeches by citizens. It was resolved to ask the Mayor to proclaim a holiday on Wednesday afternoon. The following sub-committee was set up to arrange for the procession and the speakers,' etc. : The Mayor, Captain Nicholls, Messrs T. A. 11. Field. M.P., E. S. Cresswell and W\ W. Snodgrass. It was resolved that afternoon tea be provided for the soldiers and their 'friends, the speakers at the function, and members of committee and Bands. The secretary; (Mr YT. W. Snodgrass) stated that he" would be pleased to receive offers of motor cars for the accommodation of the wounded soldiers and official visitors.
