OPERATIONS ON BELGIAN COAST

MANY BRITISH SUCCESSES. AT SMALL COST. (Rec. Jan. 13. 8.30 a.m.) LONDON, Jan. 12. Admiral Reginald Bacon's despatch regarding operations on the Belgian coast Irani August to December, reveals that a British armed yacht sank from gunfire, and a drifter and mine-sweeper were sunk by mines. The total casualties were 34 killed and 24 wouuded. The operations comprised six concerted operations of considerable magnitude and eight smaller operations . The enemy lost a torpedoer and two submarines. We destroyed three military factories, 13 heavy guns, many depots, and extensively damaged Zeebrugge locks, also ■wharves and moles in various plac.es. Our lulled included Lieut.-Commander Gartside-Tipping, the oldest naval officer afloat.
