HBVY BATTLES REPORTED HOMBARDMENT OF TURKISH POSITIONS. (Rec. Jan. 5, 8.55 a.m.) CONSTANTINOPLE, Jan. 4. A Turkish official statement reports heavy battles .. at the- Dardanelles. * A hostile cruiser and a monitor retired alter a heavy 'bombardment of our positions near Ariburnu. Concealed cases of enemy ammunition were discovered.
