CHURCH OF CHRIST CONFERENCE

"The annual conference cf the Churches of Christ in the >-elson di.-t7ict ws = held on December 2/th at. Motueka. Mr W. Wadsworth. of Wai-iti, the President, was in the chair. Wakefield: E. McPherson, C. Telenius. Wai-iti: E. Griffith, C. Grainger. Tadmcr : W. Anglesey. Lower Moutero:*G. Farley, E. Funnel. Motueka : J. Holden, E. Jeffries. Takaka : V. Lan<rford. Messrs W. R .Glover and E. Tuckcav, I secretary and treasurer, were also prei sent. 1 The morning's session was devoted i to the consideration of ways and means. , The district evangelist, Mr J. G. A spirited discussion took place, and the essayist was complimented. At the evening service Mr John Griffith, the newly-elected president, pre- ■ -=ided, and addresses wei-3 given by i Messrs W. Wadsworth, C. Telenius, and J. G. Price, -which were interspersed with several vocal selections by Mrs I Tucker, Misses E. Herrick. and Craisr, , md Messrs E .and J. Griffith and W. Wadsworth. - Officers for the ensuing year were elected at ths morning session, as follows :—President, Mr J. Griffith; vicepresident, Mr B. G. Cooper ; secretary, Mr W. R. Glover; treasurer, Mr E. E. Tucker; committeD, Messrs 'W. Angel~,ey, P. J. Hi»gins. and ■¥.. Griffith. . j . Most sat- ■ isfactory work was reported from all •parts, the financial advancement being nost encouraging . The half-yearly conference ensuing Trill b=- held in Jura next at Wakefield.
