A meeting of country delegates wiH bo lield in town (hour and place to be advertised later). on . Saturday, the 17th. inst., to make definite arrangements. Lists of contributions should be seat to the secretary (Mr Walter Snodgrass) on Thursday next from" every district to facilitate such arrangements. Important details must be arranged, and it ia; urged that each district should' bo repros&nted if possible. Housewives and other buyers in town are asked to not* the date of the Fair and arrange to purchase as largely aa possible. GALA DAY. The Gala Day on August 2nd is exEected to surpass anything of ■ the kind . eld in Nelson previously. After a processions through, the main streets, a first-class programme of sports and' amusements will be gone through in Trafalgar Park. There will bo tea kiosks, hot pie, sweets, soft drinks, and other stalls, side shows, and' many novel attractions. The public schools and inter-collegiate flag competitions are in full swing, and the children's effort is going to swell the funds very considerably. Art union tickets aro now- available, and the treasurer, .Mr .Robertson, - t - Government Life Insurance Office, will-.be pleased to supply tickets to anyone who may be prepared to sell them. Contributions of any kind for disposal by sale.or otherwise will be gladly-.re-ceived by any member of the committee.
