Sir Francis 8011, who has been, administering the Education Department for some time past now becomes ActingMinister for Education. In this connection it may be recalled that somo 11 or 12 years ago tlio 'House passed a. resolution expressing its disapproval of the holding of tho portfolio of Education- 'by a member of tho Legislative Council. This was duringftJho regime of the lato Mr Soddon, when tho portfolio of Education was held by a, collea'giio in tlio 'TJp-pqr Chamber. Mr 'Scddon subsequently took over the portfolio himself.
