He was educated at the Rangiora Boys' High School, and at Canterbury 'College. He was among tho first to volunteer for active service. Three brothers of tho late Private Hopkins are also on active ser-' vice—one holding mi commission in- the. Navy, while the other two are at Trcn.tharn. with the P.einforcements. Mr G.; P. .Hopkins, of Stoke, is a brother of the soldiers mentioned.
