EASTER TOURNAMENT. THIRD DAY'S PLAY. The Easter bowling tournament, commenced on Good Friday, concluded yesterday with a further series of matches on the Nelson and Maitai greens. AFTERNOON. Maitai v. Riversdale., .Riversdale at the 12th head had a lead of 7; but Maitai on the 13th got in a 6, and also scored on the four .following heads, which put them 5 to the good. CLOSING SCENES. , The bowlers assembled on the Nelson green at the conclusion of" play. Mr. -Ledger; for the- visitors, thanked the members of the local clubs for the pleasant time that had been provided. Mr Stiles acknowledged on behalf of the Nelson clubs. A collection amongst the visitors resulted in a substantial bonus for each of the caretakers. Mr. Graystohe, of the Court Cards Company/ sang "Rule Britannia," the assemblage joining in the chorus. ( Bowlers, with their friends, including a number of ladies, then- formed a circle on the green, when- "Auld Lang Syne" was sung, followed by the National Anthem, and cheers for Britain and the Allies. Thus ended what may truly be described as the most successful Easter tournament vet held in Nelson.
