PRESS CONGRESS

CHRISTCHURCH, March 29
Mr. P. Selig, president of the Newspaper Proprietors' Association of New Zealand, received by the American mail on Saturday an invitation to the association to be represented at the Press Congress, to be held at the Exhibition in San Francisco on July sth, 6th, 7t-h, Bth, 9th, and 10th. . In referring to the congress, the director of the congress, Dean Walter "Williams, of the School of Journalism, University of Missouri, outlines the programme, and says : —"Each association, under the plan of organisation of the congress, is entitled to five delegates, exclusive of its president and secretary, who are delegates ex officio, and one additional delegate for each 'SO members or fraction thereof. . . . Such delegates will receive a cordial welcome from their colleagues of tlie press of the United States, will be enrolled in congress membership, and will receive the special facilities extended by the Panama Pacific Exposition."
