Butter. —The market- is very quiet and prices irregular. Danish is slow, selling per cwt at 140s to 1435; New Zealand quiet with prices easy .136s to 13Ss ; occasionally 140s : Australian 132s to 136s ; Siberian, fair demand, 130s to 135s ; Argentine, slow. 132s to 1365. 'Cheese. —The market remains firm on Government buying, 'but in general is quiet. Canadian, firm, white and coloured, per nvt, 94s to 96s ; New Zenland, quiet, -white and coloured 93s to 945: Australian, quiet, 89s to 925; United States, fair demand. 88s t-o 945. Hemp.—The market is firm and prices continue <to advance. The market is active for future delivery. Grand to good fair grade, per ton, £34 10s ; fair, £32 10s; fair current Manila £4O: forward shipment New Zealand good fair £35; fair £3O; fair current Manila £4O 10s. The output from Manila- for the week was 24,000 bales. . "Wheat. —The market is inactive and holders are more willing to sell. Price.* are nominal.
