A combined meeting of Territorials, Fire Brigade, and supporters was held at the Fire Brigade Station last evening to, promote the . interests of Miss Gladys Bradley for Carnival Queen. There was I a large attendance. It was decided to' have a torchlight, procession on an evening to be decided, and afterwards an I entertainment in' orife of the public reserves. Captain Hammond, and Tr«as. F. Hounsell were appointed joint secre-' tarie>. It was unanimously decided thathalf the proceeds should go towards one of the patriotic funds or the ""Mail" tobacco fund. Those who attend will have the opportunity of indicating in which direction' they would ' like the : patriotic portion to go. A member of the Brigade offered ' to -provide certain illuminations.
