Large consignments of apples, pears, plums, and peaches continue to arrive from the Auckland district. This is having a depressing effect on sales of local varieties of the same fruits. Tomatoes are scarce, and to-day have risen again, in value. Eggs are rather dull; owing to the high price the demand has slackened, potatoes keep firm, and good ; samples realise high prices.
