SENSATIONAL MOTOR SMASH. (United Prew Association.) WELLINGTON, Feb. 10. A rather sensational motor smash occurred on the Hutt road this evening. A car travelling at a great rate met four cyclists near the Hutt bridge. The cyclists became flustered, and spreadeagled across the road. The driver of the car lost control of it, and it swerved and collided violently with one of the cyclists, throwing him forcibly against the side of a shop, and rendering him unconscious. The car dashed into a fence, turned a somersault, and landed on the other side in. a. vacant section. The driver was pinned to the ground by the steering gear, and stunned. The four occupants of the car were thrown clear on to soft • soil, but all were bruised, and suffering from shock. BTJRNED TO DEATH IT, A HUT. GORE, This Day. A well-known resident of Heriot, Harry Boylen, was found dead in a hut yesterday. Part of the Moor of the hut had been "burned, also the lower portion of the deceased's body. FOUND IN THE BULLER RIVER. WESTPORT, This Day. The body of MrsClayworth, who disappeared from her bedroom in night garments, was found in the Buller River. A verdict of found drowned was returned, there being no evidence to show how deceased got into the river.
