GERMAN DEFEAT AT MALWA
RUSSIANS IN PURSUIT.
; PETROGRAD, Dec. 18. (Official.) The Russians towards Mlawa are vigorously pursuing the defeated Germans, & large number of whom, crossed the frontier. We captured prisoners and several guns. . . There has been no engagement of importance on the left bank of the Vis-tula or in Galicia.
It is estimated, that the German.losses in the in killed, wounded, and prisoners totalled 160,000 and the Russian losses 120,000. Prisoners state that the Kaiser has ordered that Warsaw be taken at all costs. WOUNDED AND FROSTBITTEN. ROME, Dec. 18. Of 800 severelv wounded from Galicia who have arrived at Trieste. 200 are doomed to amputation of hands and feet owing to frost bite.
AUSTRIAN CADET SHIP MINED.
PARIS, Dec. 18.
An official message from Trieste states that the Austrian cadet' ship Beethoven was mined and sunk. All the cadets and sailors were drov/r.ed.
