Police Inspector .EliisOiJ arrived hi Nelson this morning.
A quiet wedding was celebrated at St. Mary's Church" yesterday afternoon, when Mr T. L. Floyd was married to Alis't iiiild Rose Laiiigan, of Hastings (Hawke's Bay). Met-. Father Ainsworth performed the ceremony ,a£ter which the newly-wedded couple proceeded ~to the Taka'ka, district, where the honeymoon will be spent. Among the many presents received were a silver teapot from the bridegroom's colleagues of the Port Post Oflicc and a 400-day clock from the Coldeii Bav Hocke* Club.
The funeral of the late Mr Charles J'jhn Bird took place yesterday afterneon, when a large cortege followed the. remains to the Wakapuaka Cemetery/. Members of Court Robin Hood A.O.F. marched in. the procession, and representatives were present from the Nelson Volunteer Fire Brigade, tho Nelson, Jockey Club ,th C \ Nelson College Old J3ovs' Association ,and various other bodies with which the deceased had been connected. The burial service was conducted by the Rev. W. S. Lucas, and the Foresters' service was react by Bro. Noel Graham, C.R., and that of the Fire Brigade by Secretary Boyes.
