In a boxing bout, "Joe" Jeannettedefeated Colin Bell, the Australian, on points. The decision was received with hooting. Bell showed' to considerable advantage in the early rounds, and was, aggressor to the eighth. Jeanette then threw off caution, and forced the righting. The exchanges in the ninth round were fast and fairly even. Jeanette, in the 11th got right and left to the head, with telling effect. > Jeanette landed hard in the 13th round, and. later repeatedly hooked- Bell to the body. The Australian's speed remained undiminished. He didj most of the leading, but had the worst of matters in the clinches.
The two concluding rounds were fast and furious, Jeanette having somewhat the best of the exchanges.
