FARMER SHOOTS HIMSELF. (Unitbd Press Association.) INVERCARGTLL. May. 5. On Mondav evening the body of a man named William Adie, a well-known resident of Otautau, was found beside a havstack with a gun alongside. There was a wound on the deceased's head. Adie was last seen adive on Thursday, when he was ploughing. No notice his absence was taken, but lato last ni"ht the bedv was discovered. A letter found in the house clearly showed that it was the deceased's intention to commit suicide. YOUNG MAN TAKES POISON. £EW PLYMOUTH, Slay 4. A voung man named Spencer Gritliths, a "tailor, committed suicide this afternoon by taking poison. His body was found amoiiK the lupins on the waterfront. BODY WASHED UP. FOXTON. This Day. The bodv <;f John Kell, who was drowned while, bathing at Rangiotn on February 22nd, was found washed up on the beach v.-sterday. At the mnues., held this morning, a verdict was returned that deceased was accidentally drowned while bathing.
