THE CHAMPIONSHIP AIATCH. (Pus* Association. —Coptbight.J LONDON, March 7. In the Billiard championship Reece has scored 7373 and Gray 6298. March 8. Reece has made 90C0 and Gray 7211. Gray early scored 217 and 151, and got wilhip 685 of Reece . The latter then made 352 off the "safety miss." At the interval the scores were, Reece 8250, Gray 7067. _ , Ihe "Evening Standard says that Gray was suffering frcyn nerves. Reece's consistency was remarkable.
COMMENTS ON GRAY'S PLAY
(Received Mar. 9, 9.10 a.m.) LONDON, March 8.
Inman stated that he expected Reece to win, but no one expected Gray would make only eight three-figure breaks' in four days, especially as he had twice made over eight hundred with ivory balls in practice. During the championship match 'Gray struck the balls with greater or lesser spring compared with those in practice games, and deteriorated 50 per, cent. ,
