LONDON MARKETS. (Press v : Association.-^Copybight). (Bee. March 5, 9.15 a.m.) - At the, tallow markets 1399 casks were offered and 554 sold. Mutton, fine, 36s ; medium 335. Beef, fine 355; medium 335. (Rec. March 5, 10.10 a.m.) LONDON, March 4. At the wool sales there was animated competition, Yorkshire and American buyers operating keenly. All crossbreds were ten per cent above the last sales. •Linseed oil 24|; turpentine 32 1£ Silver is at 26|d an ounce. At the rabbit, skins sales 2500 were catalogued in strong market. They averaged 2d advance. LONDON WOOL -MARKET Messrs Bisley Bros, and- Co. rept:rt having received- the following cable from their London agents, Mes&rs Jas. Morrison and Co., Ltd. —"Wool prices have advanced 10 per cent." Messrs Levin and Co.. Ltd., report of the wool sale held in Wellington 4th March, 1914: At the sale to-day 6670 bales were offered as against 3000 bales la:"t March. Our catalogue, representing 1208 bales. The quality of wool again was very satisfactory, taking into account the later period of the .season. There were several cood parcels of crossbreds and also of lambs'. Much of the wool, however, was of low grade, and a lar?e proportion contained seed. Bidding w;as 'strong again, and in view of the quality and condition tvery- satisfactory results. wer° realised, fine crossbreds advancing from par to a farthing, medium and coarse .crossbreds halfpenny *o three farthings, pieces farthing to halfpenny, lambs' wool halfpenny to three farthinsre. These results must be very gratifying to growers
