President Wilson conferred with Sir Cecil Spring-Rice, British Ambassador, and Sir Lionel Carden, British Minister to Mexico, and expressed approval and. appreciation of the friendly sentiments 'uttered by Sir Edward Grey in the British House of Commons. State Department officials acknowledge that they feared that Great. Britainwould press the United States to take drastic action because of Mr Benton's murder. Relief is now felt because Great Britain has not-demanded reparation from the United States. Sir Lionel Garden explained-the whole Mexican situation from the British point of view, and assured the President of his desire to follow the British policy by interposing no obstacle to the carrying out of the American policy. i A CONSTITUTIONALIST COM. Wilson will eventually be compelled to abandon his waiting policy, and that he has been disillusioned regarding ranza and Villa, but dreads sacrificing lives in quelling the anarchy in Mexico. It is reported that Carranza has summoned the Cabinet to discuss the Benton incident. Carranza declares that "Great Britain has no rights in the Benton case, £s England, having recognised Hnerta, she has"no diplomatic standing.-
