MASTERS FAVOUR FREE LABOUR
SYDNEY, March 3. . To-day's meetings of master butchers were uneventful, but it is gathered that the majority of the members favour the introduction of free labour. THE IRONWORKERS' STRIKE. SYDNEY, March 3. The Hon. T. Estell approached the iron trade employers in an endeavour to bring about a conference. The masters decided that they would only consider the suggestion ..if the men would resume work. DAY BAKING. SYDNEY, March 3. ~:■• Mr Estell -promised: a deputation .of the Bakers' Union that he would introduce a Bill providing for universal day baking during the July session.
