On the arrival of the Monowai from the south this afternoon it was reported that. a quartermaster, J. McKechnie, was missing. No particulars are obtainable as to when he was last seen.

Alb InvercargiU on Wednesday a. two-year-old son of John Grice, a carpenter, died through eating tablets containing poison.
