WELLINGTON, This Day. The affairs of Narrow and <Jo., mail order agents, were further' inquired into yesterday by'the-'Official Assignee. A statement was received from the Official, Assignee in Sydney, giving details of the. investigation of the company's affairs' there. The estate there was sequestrated in June, 1912. The liabilities amounted to £1547, .and the assets £336. The official Assignee hero stated Btated that he approached the Justice Department / to have Howe, the Wellington manager and partner,' brought back, so Tar nothing had been done. A creditor remarked : "I Will spend up ' to £SO to bring ithe men,back." , The Assignee'said that n °thi n K could be done without-an order of the Court. That was the, worst of the Companies Act. He had recently wound up a small company, and it cost £BOO in expenses. It could have been done (for £lO under the Bankruptcy Act. It was finally resolved "That the Justice Department be asked to take th© case up, seeing that at leas;- 96 people have been out pX their t mpney v ,■ v and 1737 persons had paid 4 deposits on goods, and theyv had received neither • goods nor deposits back." , ',;"*/,',.';.
