The stock exhibition was equal 1 to the best, in the Dominion. Mr. Fare, i the fat cattle judge, expressed the opinijj ion that this section was the best south " of the Line. There was a very fine exlj hibition of sheep. *1 The following chairpionships in sheep were; awarded Liiicolns: Ram, W. Perry; ewe, A. E. Anderson. English Leicester: Ram, S. R. Lancaster; ewe, S. R. Lancaster. Border Lsicesters : Raw and ewe, J. Dowthwaite. Romney Marsh: Ra.m, Gray Bros; ewe, W. Perry. Southdowns : ißam, A. J. Stonewigg ,• ewe, Nelson Bros. Shropshires : Ram, W. Rayner; ewe, W. Rayner. In the farmers' classes : honours were divided between Shaw and Son and McKenzie Bros. In breeding classes McKenzie Bros., J. Strang, \V. H. Beetha.m, W. Peri'}', W- Howard Booth, H. R. McKenzie and Sir W, C. Buchanan divided the honours. Cattle championships: Purebred Short-' horn : Bull, Sir W. C. Buchanani; cow, vV. T. Williams. Grade Shorthorn: Bull, T. jVicLecd ; cow, J. Ruska. Herefords: Bull, E. G. Short; cow, estate of the j 'ate H. James. Ayrsliires: Bull, Wilton Bros. / cow, R. C. Fowler. Polled Angus: Bull and cow, F. Armstrong. Jerseys: Bull, T'. Ingle, junr.. reserve champion, W. H. and H. E. Booth ; cow. S. R. Lancaster. Holstein-Fresian : Bull ijand cow, W. J. Lovelock, I The competitions resulted as follows: Maiden jumping: E. G. Short's Dinizulu 2, G. Short's Scout 2, B. T. Westmoreland's Minola 3. Maiden jumping : P. Drunimond's Kowhaia 1, C. H. Blundell's Pat 2, G. Short's Bonnie 3. • In dairy produce the Bunnythorpe Dairy Company took the prizes for butter, and Parkvfile for cheese.
