She is in a critical condition. William Wright, 21, a steward, and a rectnt arrival from. England, who was keeping company with Miss Caldwell, reached home at midnight, and shortly afterwards, was found shot seriously. It is stated that Wright prevailed on the girl to get an afternoon off to visit English ships in the harbour.
