In conversation with a powerful-look-ing young miner from Yorkshire, -an. Auckland reporter was informed by the new arrival that the conditions at Home were very unsettled at present, there, being a large number of unemployed in almost every town. The mining trade was much better than it was 12 months ago, and a good healthy miner could obtain employment, but the wages were small and. the conditions under which they worked were unsatisfactory.
