The Terra Nova urrivecl at Cape Evans 53n the ISth of .January of this year, and obtained the iollowinc; information from the shore party there : Captain Scott reached the South Polfc on the 18th of January, 1912. and found Captain Amundsen's tent and records. On. his return journey the whole of the Southern party pevished. Captain Scott, Dr. Wilson, and Lieut. Bowers died from exposure during a blizzard about the 29th March, 1912. The last camp was eleven miles south of One Ton depot, or 155 miles from the hut at Cape Evans. Captain Oates died from exposure on the 7th March, and Seaman Edgar Evans died from concussion of the brain On the 17th February. The health of the remainder of the expedition was excellent, including Lieutenant Campbell's party, who wintered in Terra Nova Bay.
