SHACKLETON'S OPINION
AMAZED AT THE DISASTER. (Received. Feb. 11. 11.5 a.m.) LONDON, Feb. 10. lieuter's New York correspondent interviewed Sir Ernest H. ShackLeton, who accompanied Capta'n Scott on bis first expedition to Antarctica, and was leader of the 1903-09 British Antarctic Expedition. He said -he was amazed at the ■disaster to Scott's party. It was inconceivable. he said, that an expedition so well equipped could perish in a blizzard. He himself had fac?d the severest blizzards without disaster. COMMANDER. PEARY'S SYMPATHY. (Received Feb. 11. 11.5 a.m.) LONDON, Feb. 10. Commander Peary, the discoverer of the North Pole, interviewed, expressed his heartfelt sympathy for Mrs Scott and the relatives of Scott's brave comrades.
