The death is reported front. Wanganui, at the age of 83 years, of the Rev. John ißoss.
Mr. Barrv Con-sv. cf Auckand, has been appointed judge of the instrumental section at the Napier Competitions of 1913.
The Rev. R. Welsh, of the Presbyterian Church. Arrowtown, has received a call to Opunake.
Mrs Kecghan. who died at Punamahoi, Takaka. a few clays ago. is said to have been the second white woman born in Nelson, and was well-known and high 3y respected throughout .the district.
Mr. E Page, of Eketabuna. who has recently been appointed a Stipendiary Magistrate, will be permanently stationed on the Main Trunk district.
Archdeacon Stocker, who has been •roear of St. John's, Invercargill, for 30 yeaTs, has «one with his wife and family to live in retirement at Akaroa.
The Rev. J. D. Macfariane, of Takaka, will relieve, the Rev. J. H. MacKenzie during the lattcr's absence at the Presbvterian Assembly.
Mr. F- Gaukrcdger has resolved the position of President of the Takaka Racing Club, after four years of office. It 39 -the intention of Mr. Gaukrodger to visit Sydney.
The Rev. J. Reed Glasson. of the Terrace Congregational Church, and Mrs Glascon. have been presented with a handsome clock (with chimes), and a •cheque for 60 guineas by the members and adherents of the Church, on the occasion of their silver wedding.
The majority of the members of the Masterton Hospital Committee have tendered their resignation. It is understood that this is partly on acco.unt of trouble over the nursing staff.
