GORED BY A BULL.
A STARTLING EXPERIENCE. Last evening a startling experience befel Mr Geo. Leonard, a visitor from Blenheim, staying with his brother, Mr T. Leonard, of Wakapuaka. While leading a bull to water, the animal suddenly charged iMr Leonard, knocking him down and then proceeding to trample on him. Fortunately, the bull had been dehorned, otherwise the injuries inflicted would doubtless have been much more severe. As it was, however, Mr Leonard was considerably knocked about, being much bruised. His ribs were darnaged, and probably his lungs have received injuries. He was able, however, to regain his feet and make his escape over a fence near by. Dr Johnson was called in, and ordered the removal of the injured man to the Hospital. The bull, which belonged to Mr A. East, was subsequently destroyed.
