CUSTOMS TARIFF.

NO ALTERATION THIS SESSION. (United Press Association.) WELLINGTON, July 11. A statement was made by the Hon. F. M. B. Fisher (Minister of Customs) this evening to the uncertainty which ' existed in the n-inds of importers throughout the Dominion upon the question of an amendment of the Customs tariff. The Cabinet had decided that during the coming session of Parliament there will be no amendment of the Customs tariff. This statement is made solely with a view to allaying the anxiety of importers whose business may be affected by the uncertainty created by public statements made recently in the House. In the meantime the Minister for Custorrs is entering into correspondence with the Prime Minister of the Commonwealth regarding the reciprocity proposals which have been put forward by the Australian Government.
