SIXTEEN BOATS SIGHTED.

SOME CROWDED—SOME NOT HALF FULL. GETTING THE SURVIVORS ON TO THE CARPATHIA. SIX SURVIVORS DIE. (Rec. April 20, 0.30 a.m.) LONDON, April 19. The Garpathia sighted sixteen boats at. three o'clock in the morning. Little children were hoisted on board in bags, and the adults by means of ropes. Some of the boats were crowded, and a few were not half full. There were husbands, but not their wives, and wives without their husbands, and children without their parents, but not a sob was heard. Five women died soon after their rescue, and were buried at sea. Ono died in a boat. The list of missing prominent persons is not altered. Mrs Candee, of Washington, had both legs broken in getting into a lifeboat. She states that most of the men saved were picked up after they had plunged overboard. Sh-e declares that Major Butt and Colonel Astor died like heroes.
