A SYDNEY BURGLAR.
AN ACCUSED'S CONFESSION

SYDNEY. April 18
Alfred Smith was committed for trial on burglary at the residence of Mr. Thompson, at Randwick. Accuse'.!, in a written statement, said a man named Ba'.fon induced him to accompany him to Thompson's house. He watched while Balson robbed the premises. Balson : whom the police have been unable to trace, was shot in the shouldir. They afterwards divided the proceeds of the robberv.
Accused said he had been some time out of work and was desperate. He expressed sorrow for the trouble he had caused. • Smith was also committed for trial on a second charge o? burglary at Ran-d----wick on January 23rd. When faced with finger print evidence Smith admitted the robbery.
